China Southern Cuts Fuel Surcharge
China Southern has decreased the fuel surcharge of flights between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Fees from the original single and round trip of HK$102 and HK$204, respectively, have dropped to HK$100 and HK$200, respectively.
At present, Air China's fuel surcharges on those lines are HK$103 for single trip and HK$205 for round trip. Dragonair's fee standard is HK$103 for single trip, and HK$206 for round trip. Cathay Pacific charges the same fee standard with that of Dragonair.
China Southern's price cut is not huge, and won't affect the current air ticket prices too much. However it is a sign that perhaps other airlines might follow and may lead to greater drops.
