Shangri-La Unveils New Traders Hotel For Beijing
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has just signed a management agreement with Beijing-based Super Shine Company to operate a new Traders Hotel on Xiaoyun Road in Beijing.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Super Shine Co. Ltd to introduce a second Traders hotel to Beijing, to complement our existing portfolio of hotels in the capital city, just in time for the world excitement of the Olympic Games," said Giovanni Angelini, Shangri-La chief executive officer and managing director.
The Traders Hotel, opening early August 2008 will be the group's second Traders Hotel in the city. Designed by Barcelona-based Ricardo Bofill, the hotel will feature 419 rooms with city views and a minimum room size of 33 square metres. The five-floor, 77-room Traders Club will offer a host of special amenities such as private meeting room, express check-in and check-out service, in addition to an exclusive club lounge for daily breakfast and evening cocktails.
The hotel's dining and entertainment options will include a lobby lounge; café for all-day-dining; Chinese restaurant with 13 private dinning rooms over two floors; and sports bar. There will be a total 2,000 square meters of meeting and function spaces and a business center. Recreational facilities will include a health club, indoor swimming pool and spa with nine treatment rooms.
