Li Xun, director of the Management Division of Nanjing Municipal Tourism Bureau, has told local media that in the second half of this year, Nanjing will issue a budget hotel standard to guide and regulate the development of the city's fast growing budget hotels.

Li said that budget hotels do not necessarily means cheap hotels, and at present it is imperative to have a standard to regulate the service and development of these type of hotels that cater to traveling businesspeople. Li says consumers choose budget hotels mainly because of their reasonable prices, but at the same time they also care about the convenience, comfort, and sanitation at the hotels.

Budget hotels are known to the public as hotels with lower costs and limited services. The arrival of the new standard is expected to give a clear definition to this hotel genre in the city.
