Regal Hotels International reportedly has recently purchased property in Chengdu's Xindu District for RMB213 million to develop a new hotel project.

This area covers 111,868 square meters. RHI plans to build a five-star hotel and business facility, as well as residences. The project will start at the beginning of 2008 and opened phase by phase in 2009.

Regal Hotels International is a wholly owned subsidiary of the publicly listed Regal Hotels International Holdings Limited in Hong Kong. RHI currently manages five hotels in Hong Kong, including Regal Airport Hotel at the Hong Kong International Airport, Regal Hongkong Hotel in Causeway Bay, Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsimshatsui East, Regal Oriental Hotel in Kowloon City, and Regal Riverside Hotel in Shatin. In addition, the group operates two hotels in Shanghai: Regal International East Asia Hotel and Regal Shanghai East Asia Hotel.
