A taxi service reporting and information system has been established at the taxi depots in 70 hotels in Beijing.
These hotels, including Beijing Hotel, promise to make a record and report complaints to relevant government departments if there are problems with a taxi's service.
The Beijing Traffic Enforcement Authority and Beijing Transportation Bureau have jointly issued a circular, requiring traffic departments to conduct a two-month inspection of all taxis to make sure they meet their standards. The result of this inspection will be published in October.
The circular also asks taxi companies to severely punish taxi drivers once problems are identified.
