Viva Macau, the only budget airlines company in Macau, is positioning itself as a low fare air carrier for much of Southeast Asia.

Viva Macau has already been operating international lines with wide-body aircrafts in Guangdong, Hong Kong and the Macau area. Now it has just received its first Boeing 767 plane.

Viva Macau executive director Andrew Pyne said that the airline plans to have a fleet of five airplanes by the Spring of 2007 and over 10 airplanes by 2011.

In addition, Viva will launch its first line between Jakarta and Maldives at the end of this October. The fare of Viva Macau will be 20%-30% cheaper than those flights departing from Hong Kong.

Apart from its low prices, Viva Macau says another advantage it provides is direct flights, which will save time for passengers.

Viva Macau is also planning to open 15 international lines to Milan, Sri Lanka, Hawaii, Burma, Lisbon and New Zealand. Most of these destinations do not have direct lines with Guangzhou or Shenzhen.
