Fresh Sofitel Faces For Pre-Opening Team In Beijing

Sofitel Wanda Beijing is planning to open its doors in the middle of 2007 and has added three new staff to its executive management team.
Gerhard Zimmer is the new General Manager of Sofitel Wanda Beijing and concurrently General Manager Delegate for Accor Hotels in Beijing. Zimmer graduated from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, and for over the last 14 Years he has been a Senior Executive of Accor the European leader in the hospitality industry. He has been the Opening General Manager of the first ever Sofitel in China, the Sofitel Hyland Shanghai, from 1992 to 1994; Vice President and General Manager for Accor in the Philippines; and director of Operations for Accor in China. Prior to coming to Beijing he was General Manager of the Sofitel Jin Jiang Oriental Pudong Shanghai.
Sofitel Wanda Beijing has appointed Freda Yu as its Director of Sales and Marketing. Yu brings more than 13 years of hospitality experience to Accor's first flagship Sofitel in China. She will oversee vast operations covering business development, marketing strategies, revenue management and communications implementation. Prior to Beijing, Yu held the same position for more than 2 years at Sofitel Jin Jiang Oriental Pudong Shanghai. She has also worked with other prestigious hotel chains such as Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai and Shangri-la Hotel Dalian.
Stephane Del Prete has been named Sofitel Wanda Beijing's new Director of Human Resources. A native of France, Del Prete joins the hotel with an extensive pre-opening and re-branding experience accumulated from having worked previously with Sofitel Galaxy Nanjing, Sofitel Zhongshan Golf Resort Nanjing, Sofitel Boao Hainan, Sofitel Jin Jiang Oriental Shanghai, Novotel Xinqiao Beijing, Novotel Peace Beijing, Sofitel Zhengzhou, Novotel (Coralia) Lombok, Novotel (Coralia) Benoa Bali. Del Prete will lead the HR team to recruit high quality employees, conduct professional trainings and demonstrate the positioning of Sofitel Wanda Beijing in the market.
