An unnamed manager from Jin Jiang has disclosed to local media that the group intends to sell some of its two-star and three-star hotels to create a new business hotel brand.
Jin Jiang International Hotel Management Company, the parent company of Jin Jiang, is one of the leading budget hotel brands in China.
According to the survey of 2006 China Budget Hotels, budget hotels will keep expanding in China due the great market potential. In contrast, the low star hotels in mainland China are suffering because they can't attract top grade business clients. This is why Jin Jiang is seeking to sell these assets.
Currently the group runs more than 200 hotels and inns across China.
