The 18-year-old Capital Hotel has revealed its renovated look in Beijing with the opening of a new tower.

To retain its status as one of the leading hotels in Beijing, Capital Hotel started its image upgrade project in July 2005 with a ground breaking for Tower B.  The entire project cost about RMB290 million and was divided into two phases. The first was the construction of Tower B and the the building of 277 superior guest rooms and suites, one state-of-the-art grand ballroom, 6 smaller meeting rooms, 1 decorated conference hall, a business center, VIP lounge complimented by an art gallery and a trendy bar.

The second phase is the refurbishment of Tower A, which covers the public area, lobby, two Chinese restaurants, the top-floor Italian restaurant, Capital Club Lounge, all guest rooms, swimming pool, gym, bowling, billiards, karaoke night club, sauna and beauty salon.  On February 9, 2007, the swimming pool, gym and billiards areas have reopened to the public followed by the opening of Ristorante Bologna and other areas.

The hotel's newly refurbished rooms in Tower A feature amenities to cater for business travelers, such as independent shower stalls, broadband Internet connectivity, voice mail and 29-inch flat screen TV.

The hotel now features a total of 599 well-appointed guest rooms, comprehensive meeting venues and eight distinctive dining outlets.
