Executives Share Responsibilities At Two Beijing Hotels

The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing and JW Marriott Hotel BeijingChina Central Place is home to The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing and JW Marriott Hotel Beijing, and the two hotels are also planning to share executive team members.

Robert J. LohrmannRobert J. Lohrmann has been appointed the managing director of The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing and JW Marriott Hotel Beijing at the China Central Place. A veteran hotelier with three decades of experience, Lohrmann has undertaken leadership positions in all facets of hotel industry ranging from operations, sales and marketing, finance, project planning, hotel development and several successful hotel openings. Lohrmann began his career in the North America in 1975, gradually establishing himself as a global executive. For the past 23 years, he has worked senior executive positions with leading hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, China and South Korea. Prior to taking up this new role, Lohrmann was the General Manager of JW Marriott Hotel & Marquis Spa & Fitness Center in Seoul, South Korea.

Franco IoFranco Io is the new general manager of JW Marriott Hotel Beijing at China Central Place. In this capacity, Io is in charge of the pre-opening preparations of this establishment and he brings two decades of expertise and experience to JW Marriott Hotel Beijing. Prior to this, he was the hotel manager of JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai and Marriott Executive Apartments at Tomorrow Square. His footsteps have covered leading hotels in Malaysia, Macau, Los Angeles, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Io speaks fluent English, Putonghua and Cantonese dialect.

Manfred WeberHaving joined The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai as hotel manager in November 2005, Manfred Weber has now been promoted to general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing. Previously, Weber was resident manager at the Peninsula Palace Hotel, Beijing, where he was instrumental in overseeing the final phase of the hotel's renovation and the subsequent re-branding. He joined the hotel as director of food and beverage in 2000. Hailing from Austria, Weber held several food and beverage positions in the Middle East and Germany and apprenticed as a chef for three years in the Hotel Boehlerstern, Kapfenberg in Austria. Fluent in German and English, Weber graduated from the Catering and Hospitality Management College in Bad Gleichenberg, Austria.

Ken WongKen Wong has been appointed director of marketing of JW Marriott Hotel Beijing and The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing. In this capacity, he will oversee the entire sales and marketing operations of these two hotels at the China Central Place. Wong has more than two decades of experience in the hotel industry. Prior to his current assignment, he was the director of marketing at the Renaissance Shanghai Pudong Hotel. He joined Marriott in 2001 as Director of Marketing for Shenyang Marriott Hotel.
