Mareka Hotel Management Limited Company, one of the budget hotel management giants in the Chengdu market, will cooperate with local budget hotel Top Star Hotel to expand in western China.
Guo Rong, chief marketing officer of Mareka, says that they have set up a joint venture with Top Star in Chengdu and they plan to jointly develop new hotels there. According to Guo, they have chosen the location for their first hotel in Chengdu and the hotel is currently being renovated and expected to open at the end of May.
The parties plan to open 15 hotels in Chengdu and 20 direct-run or franchised hotels in Chongqing. Guo says that the cooperation with Top Star won't affect the expansion of Mareka's self-owned brands.
