Tourists Spent RMB412 Per Capita During Labor Day Holiday

During the week-long May Day holiday, China hosted a total of 179 million tourists, which was an increase of 22.7% over that of the same period of last year.
In addition, the country achieved RMB73.6 billion in tourism revenue, which was up 25.8% from last year, with each tourist spending an average RMB412 on the holiday.
The report released by China's National Holiday Office regarding the May Day Golden Week holiday shows that the country received 179 million tourists during the holiday, of whom 45.86 million stayed overnight, increasing by 18.1%; and 133 million were one-day trip tourists, up 24.4%. The civil aviation sector contributed RMB3.2 billion to the total tourism revenue and railway department RMB1.49 billion.
39 key tourist cities like Beijing, Tianjin and Chengde achieved RMB29.1 billion tourism income and received 62.14 million tourists during the holiday, which represents an increase over the same period of last year.
The National Holiday Office included 119 scenic spots in its report, which shows that these tourist attractions received totally 22.3187 million tourists with a door ticket income of RMB910 million.
From April 30 to May 7, National Holiday Office received 530 calls, of which 352, up by 38%, were about complaints and 178 for inquiries.
