Hebei Chooses 100 Hotels To Serve Olympic Games

Hebei Provincial Tourism Department says that they will invest RMB5 billion this year to plan Olympic games related travel routes.
HPTD has also chosen about 100 hotels from Langfang, Baoding and Tangshan, which are all close neighbors to Beijing, as Olympic Game reception hotels for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
It is estimated that Beijing will need more than 800 hotels to meet the demand during the Olympic Games, but the city currently only has about 600 hotels. Beijing claimed earlier that it would use hotels from the neighboring province when it comes up short on reception hotels during the Games.
The 100 hotels chosen by Hebei Province are all two-star or above and they can provide a total of 11000 rooms and about 21000 beds. The majority of these hotels are said to have been recently upgraded and renovated. HPTD has also organized training for hotel staff on Olympics etiquette and customs to better serve the international customers.
