Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has celebrated the opening of the new Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu.

Adjacent to the Shangri-La Office Tower, the 36-story hotel reportedly features the largest spa and ballroom in the city center. The hotel also overlooks the Jinjiang River.

The 594-room hotel offers the largest guestroom size in the city center at a minimum size of 42 sqm and up to 276 sqm for suites. In addition, 26 serviced apartments cater to the special needs of long-term guests.

The Horizon Club rooms and suites with panoramic views, offer guests personalized services as well as extensive privileges, such as dedicated concierge; complimentary American buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails; meeting rooms and a business center.

In addition, the health club facilities include a gym, indoor swimming pool, outdoor tennis court and sauna.

With a floor space of 2,100 sqm and a nine-meter-high ceiling, the Grand Ballroom is the largest of its type in the city center. Providing direct access via a large lift, it is even possible to drive a car into the Grand Ballroom for exhibits. For more intimate occasions, a selection of 16 additional function rooms and an auditorium are also available.
