Hanting Hotel Plans To Open Franchise Rights

Hanting Hotel says it will give more priority to franchises in its future expansion and will have franchise hotels account for about 10% of the company's total portfolio.
Cheng Jun, deputy vice president of Hangting Hotel, said limiting the proportion between direct-run hotels and franchise hotels is vital to ensure the hotel's service quality and brand consistency as China's domestic chain hotel industry is still in its early stage of development.
Cheng said that Hanting is soon to have 100 direct-run hotels, a watershed that presents a good opportunity for developing franchises.
At present, according to local media, Home Inn's direct-run and franchise hotels proportion is 7:3, and Jinjiang Inn 6:4, while such rapidly growing chain hotels as Hanting, 7 Days Inn and GreenTree Inn, are still developing through direct-run operations.
