Qantas Airways To Increase Flights To Shanghai

Qantas Airways has announced plans to add one more weekly round-trip flight between Shanghai and Sydney from August this year and add two non-stop flights from Shanghai to Melbourne each week starting March 2008.
With the addition of the weekly flight between Shanghai and Sydney, there will be five flights between the two cities each week.
John Borghetti, executive general manager of Qantas Airways, said this is the first time that Qantas Airways has launched a non-stop line between Shanghai and Melbourne and it shows the airline's determination in better serving the passengers between China and Australia.
Qantas Airways will adopt A330 planes for the two lines and offer order-on-demand entertainment system on board. Shanghai-Melbourne flight will take off from Shanghai every Monday and Friday and return from Melbourne every Tuesday and Saturday.
In 2004, Qantas Airways launched three weekly flights from Shanghai to Australia, and by March 2008 there will be 10 round-trip flights between China and Australia, including five flights between Shanghai and Sydney, two between Shanghai and Melbourne and three round trips between Beijing and Sydney.
