Las Vegas Sands Corp has announced August 28 to be the date to open its highly anticipated Venetian Macao Resort Hotel in Macau, the only place in China where casino gambling is approved.
Occupying 10.5 million square feet, Venetian Macao Resort Hotel is the largest property in Asia and the second largest one in the world. It offers 3000 deluxe suites, a meeting space of 1.2 million square foot, a 1800-seat theatre, a 15,000-seat arena, casinos and 350 shopping stores.
Venetian Macao Resort Hotel will be the first property to open on the Cotai Strip in Macao, which will eventually have 20,000 hotel rooms, 3 million square feet of shopping and meeting spaces operated by some of the biggest names in the business including Four Seasons, Sheraton, St. Regis, Hilton and Shangri-La.
Sheldon Adelson, chairman and chief executive officer of Las Vegas Sands Corp, said it is truly a defining moment for Las Vegas Sands as their work to open Macao's first multi-use integrated resort comes to fruition and their vision of creating Asia's Las Vegas comes one step closer to reality. With the opening of this hotel, Macao is expected to be a premium destination for entertainment, leisure, shopping and meeting location seekers.
