The China National Tourism Administration has issued a document to collect opinions for the Tourism Resource Protection Provisional Measures, which shows its initiatives to protect travel resources and the environment.

TRPPM involves various natural heritage sites, culture heritage areas, themed parks, geoparks, forest parks and other scenic spots as well as undeveloped tangible or intangible travel resources. In the next step, China will conduct a general survey on the travel resources and make the survey result as a basis for travel resource protection and tourism industry development plan creation.

Meanwhile, a tourism resource protection and consulting team will be set up to provide consultations, suggestions and comments on tourism resource protection development. A travel resource protection report will also be issued by the end of every five-year planning period.

In addition, the measure states that tourism departments shall strengthen the management of bidding activities for travel resources.
