IHG Appoints New China Vice President

Dexter ChiaInterContinental Hotels Group has promoted Dexter Chia, to the role of VP, Sales & Marketing Greater China.

On taking up his new role, Chia will oversee the brand performance, planning, development and execution of sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue and maximize hotel performance. He is also responsible for extending the IHG's brand leadership, providing functional direction for sales, marketing, revenue management and public relations across Greater China.

Chia joined IHG in June 2005 as the regional director of sales and marketing, Greater China. He has been working in the hospitality industry for over 18 years. Prior to joining IHG, he held various sales and marketing positions in Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in the Asia Pacific region and also worked for Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts in Singapore. Chia received diplomas in Hotel Management, Food and Beverage and a Sales and Service Certificate from Les Roches in Switzerland. He is fluent in Mandarin and English and has a working knowledge of German and French.
