April ZhuApril Zhu is based in the Shanghai representative office of FMC Asia-Pacific and is responsible for handling corporate travel planning. Appropriately for a person with her role, she enjoys traveling for pleasure as well as for business.

What are your favorite hotels, and what makes them special?
The Sanya Marriott Resort & Spa is one of my favorites. It has good facilities, a spacious lobby, a cafeteria with sea views, and a uniquely designed swimming pool. Its location is excellent with tranquil surroundings, clear and fresh air. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the meeting facilities come up to all our requirements.

Another of my favorites is the Millennium Hongqiao Hotel Shanghai. It is close to Hongqiao Airport, so it is a convenient location for my Beijing colleagues to attend a meeting after arriving in Shanghai. As a new hotel, it is serene and the price is competitive compared with other luxury hotels.

What travel destination would you recommend?
I would recommend Kanas in Xinjiang. Kanas Lake is surrounded by snow topped mountains. It offers unparalleled scenery with its green slopes and thick forests, colorful flowers and lively butterflies; and beautiful lakes and mountains. The spot can be visited any time during the year and offers different scenery in different seasons.

What are your personal travel plans for 2007?
July is the month when my family travels. In that month each year we spend ten days traveling for pleasure. This year, we plan to go to Dalian.
