The Civil Aviation Administration of China has punished airline companies for delaying four flights about 10 hours on July 31.

The four flights are CA1295, CA4172, CA984, and MU5458. The first three are run by Air China and the latter is China Eastern.

In order to ensure normal flight landing and departure schedules at the Capital Airport and to prepare for next year's Olympic Games, CAAC initiated a special campaign against delayed flights from June to August when there are usually more thunder storms. During the period, a total of 120 domestic flights that ranked among highest with the most departure delays have received warnings. China Eastern and Air China have each been asked to cancel their flights as a result of two warnings.

From July 28 to August 1, Xinhua reports that CAAC issued two notices and reduced the flight number at the Capital Airport by 92 daily to ensure safer flying.
