Chongqing Transportation And Tourism Investment Group Corporation says it will invest RMB6 billion to improve the Three Gorges scenic spot to further increase its competitiveness in tourism.

CTTIGC will first focus on the Small Three Gorges, which is the most popular spot for the Three Gorges travel. According to Xu Ren'an, general manager of CTTIGC, they will fstart the restoration of the Small Three Gorges in the latter half of September and this will be followed by the construction of other spots.

Xu says that they will complete the transference of all the monkey groups in the Three Gorges region around the October National Day holiday.

In recent years, with the constant improvement of infrastructures, China's tourism has entered a period of fast development, with more scenic spots and new travel routes coming out. However, the lack of investment, which is the biggest bottleneck for developing the Three Gorges, has not been fully solved.

Xu says that the general planning for the Yangtze River Three Gorge Reconstruction has been reviewed and right now they are working on an international bidding for the reconstruction of each scenic spot.
