Dubai's Jumeirah Aims To Open Five Hotels In China

Gerald Lawless, CEO of Dubai based Jumeirah has disclosed to local media that Jumeirah expects to open at least five hotels in China by the end of the 2010.
During an interview with Reuters, Lawless said that Jumeirah, which currently manages Dubai's Burj al Arab, would open its first hotel in China in August 2008 in Shanghai. This hotel is also the group's first hotel in the Asia region. Jumerah is also preparing to manage some hotels in Jiangsu, Hainan and Macau. However, Lawless refused to disclose more details about the negotiation on opening a hotel in Beijing.
Local media reports predict Jumeirah will open its hotel in Beijing within three years. At present, Jumeirah has set up an office in Shanghai.
