Budget Hotels Compete To Issue New Brands

Shanghai Hanting Hotel Chain Group announced that they have signed ten properties in Wuhan including the newly developed brand "Hanting Inn".
Meanwhile, Sunny Sky Inns and Yangtze River Restaurant also plan to issue new brands.
Cheng Jun, the standing vice president of Hanting has told local media that their new brand " Hanting Inn" will target backpacker and budget tourists with low prices of as little as RMB100 per night. Prior to this announcement, they always focuses on the business travel market.
As for Sunny Sky Inns, they opened the first generation of city hotels targeted at ordinary tourists, and the second generation of fashionable economy hotels with meeting room focused on business tourists. The newly opened Baofeng Sunny Sky Inns Fashion Hotel in Wuhan added a standard meeting room with a 200-person capacity to provide services for big meetings.
Yangtze River Restaurant with 15 budget hotel chains has also issued the more expensive brand " Tomolo Boutique Hotel" for business travel market.
The first national industry standard about budget hotel ranking is expected to be unveiled by China Hotel Association within the year. The new regulation will classify budget hotels into several levels according to their different size, location and operational quality. The draft has been studied by relevant agencies and officials will make further amendments on the basis of advice from relative governing departments, enterprises and customers. Some preliminary feedback indicates that the domestic budget hotel market can be standardized only after further development in the sector.
