New GM At Swissotel Grand, Shanghai

Ian Jones is the new general manager of Swissotel Grand, Shanghai, which is scheduled to open in spring 2008.
Before coming to Shanghai, the Canadian-born general manager has enjoyed seven years of international hospitality experience, which also included the general manager post at the Swissotel Krasnye Holmy, Moscow. Jones though has a total of 23 years in the hotel and hospitality sector. Before joining Swissotel Hotels & Resorts he worked two and a half years for the Hilton London Metropole as director of operations, followed by another two and a half years in the same position opening the new Hilton Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
Prior to his international placements, his Canadian hotel career included positions as the hotel manager for the Sheraton-on-the-Falls, Niagara Falls; general manager of the Reunion Bar at the Toronto Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center; and assistant banquet manager for the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
