Hong Kong Tourism Board Shuffles Board Members

The Hong Kong Tourism Board has appointed five new members to its board.

Appointed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government for a three-year term, the new members are Shirley Chan Suk-ling, Dr Michael Chan Yue-kwong, Ko Chi-sum, Larry Kwok Lam-kwong and Stanley Hui Hon-chung. The appointment is effective as of November 1 2007.

The Hon James Tien, chairman of the HKTB, welcomed the HKSAR's appointment and said that the five appointees are all elites in their respective fields. He said, "We are hopeful that the new members will provide guidance and inject new ideas to HKTB's work. I look forward to working closely with them to further promote our tourism industry."

In addition, Dr James Wu, Yu Pang-chun, Michael Hui Koon-man, Tang Kwai-nang and Prof Andrew Chan Chi-fai will retire, after having served the HKTB for six years.
