SPG Land Creating Boutique Hotel On Historic Bund

Hong Kong's SPG Land has entered into a leasing agreement with Shanghai Waitan Yuan Development Limited on to lease properties at No. 33 on the Bund in Shanghai to develop into a premium retail complex and a world-class luxury boutique hotel.
The Group has appointed Amanresorts Management BV from Singapore as the management company in charge of the hotel operation. The hotel is assigned a temporary name of "The Aman, Shanghai", and the project will be the Group's second landmark hotel project in Shanghai along with The Peninsula Hotel on the Bund.
No. 33 on the Bund is located at a prime site along Huangpu River, in the heart of the Shanghai metropolis, at the junction with Suzhou River. The site has significant historical heritage as it is previous location of the British Embassy, while it will also be the future neighbor of the five-star platinum-grade Peninsula on the Bund which will be completed in 2009 and the Group is the joint owner of the Peninsula Hotel development. The Group will join hands with globally leading names as partners for the development of a luxury boutique hotel and premium retail complex, including Pei Partnership Architects LLP at the helm of the design of the project.

SPG Land has also announced that the Group has entered into a letter-of-intention for a strategic cooperation with Amanresort to develop premium resort hotels under the Amanresort brand in the Group's existing Huangshan Taiping Lake Resort project. The resort will be developed in conjunction with the five-star Crowne Plaza Resort hotel currently being constructed, the champion-course standard golf course designed by Gary Player, and the upcoming low density residences. Huangshan Taiping Lake project is destined to become a leading international resort development.
