Airline Companies Owe RMB1.2 Billion In Airport Construction Fees

China Civil Airports Association has published a list of airline companies that owe the airport construction fee and 30 Chinese domestic airports are said to owe more than RMB1.2 billion.
Wang Jian, secretary general of CCAA, says that the non-payment of airport construction fees has greatly affected airports' operations and management. Wang says that at some airports, some airline companies have owed more than RMB10 million and others even over RMB100 million. This has brought much pressure to airports' management and operations and hence infringed the due rights of the airport industry.
Wang Jian says that CCAA has decided to publish the names of the airlines in order to protect the legal rights of the member airports and to urge airline companies to fulfill their obligations.
The majority of the airports that owe the construction fee are from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, which account for over 90% of the passenger flow in China.
The airline companies that have owed the construction fee reportedly include China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, Air China, Shanghai Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, East Star Airlines, United Eagle Airlines, Shandong Airlines, OK Air, Sichuan Airlines, Deer Jet, Yangtze River Express Airlines Company Limited , Xiamen Airlines, Juneyao Airlines, China United Airlines, China Express, Lucky Air, Spring Airlines, China Postal Airlines and Xinhua Airlines.
