The National Tourism Star-Grade Hotel Assessment Commission has announced on the official website of China National Tourism Administration that it has decided to cancel the five-star qualification of Grand View Hotel Shenzhen.
With this announcement, Grand View Hotel Shenzhen has reportedly become the first five-star hotel in Guangdong Province that has been deprived of the qualification.
Starting in 2004, the China National Tourism Administration has been ending the lifetime qualification system for star-grade hotels. Since last year, up to 800 star-grade hotels in China have had their qualifications revoked, including 79 hotels from Guangdong Province.
