The Ningbo Hotel Association says that there are currently 13 opened and another 25 five-star standard hotels under construction and in the pipeline around the city.

The city's Yinzhou District recently welcomed its first platinum five-star standard hotel which provides more than 400 deluxe guestrooms. And another two high-end hotels, the Mondial and Sofitel Wanda, are building near this area.

In addition, local media reports that one hotel from Marriott is planned in Haishu District; one hotel from Shangri-La in Jiangdong District; and one international conference center from the Park Hyatt in Dongqianhu is being planned. Local Ningbo authorities say the city is expected to have about 40 five-star standard hotels within five years.

The Ningbo Hotel Association says that with Ningbo's fast pace of economic growth and its MICE sector's fast development, more high-end hotels will help solve the problem of high-class rooms and services deficiencies.
