The Tangshan New City of Jiangning District in Nanjing has its first phase construction planning primarily approved by an oversight team, which includes up to six top hotels in the new area.

The Tangshan New City is positioned as a new leisure traveling area and comprehensive service center in the east of Jiangning District. The first phase is located at the west of Tangshui River, south of Ninghang Expressway and east of Tangshan Main Mountain, half an hour drive from Nanjing city.

According to the planning, this area will be built as a business and resort center combining a shopping mall, dining outlets, a business street, a hotspring resort and star-level business hotels. Among which, the hot spring facilities which can provide skin care, medical treatment and health services are expected to receive annually 1.5 million tourists. In addition, the new area will draw global top-class shopping mall brands to settle and form a comprehensive service complex of business, residence and leisure traveling facilities.

The planning is waiting for further approval and expected to start its construction by 2008.
