Wuthrich Takes Sanya General Manager Job

Urs Wuthrich has been named general manager of Pullman Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa.
Wuthrich is a native of Switzerland and originally came to Asia in 1980, where his first posting was with the Ramada Midtown Hotel in Manila. Over the past 27 years he has worked his way up from being a chef in various locations such as Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Indonesia and worked for more than 10 years in resorts.
He has spent eight years with the Peninsula Group and worked seven years with the Meridien Group at the Meridien Phuket and the Royale Meridien Baan Talingngam on Samui. Among his postings, he spent five years previously in China and was one of the pioneers at the Jianguo hotel, which was the first joint venture hotel in China in 1983. He was also connected with the Garden hotel in Canton and was part of the opening team.
Wuthrich comes from The Palms Country Club in Alabang, Manila, where he spent the last two years.
