Jinjiang Hotels Signs Management Contract For Shanghai Serviced Apartments

Jinjiang Hotels has signed a management contract with Shanghai Expo Land Holding Company Limited for 900 service apartments in Shanghai's Expo Village.

As part of Shanghai Expo Park, the Expo Village is located in Bailianjing area, Pudong District and occupies about 35 hectares with a total of 550,000 square meters of construction area. The service apartments project signed with Jinjiang Hotels covers about 146,000 square meters of total construction area. It consists of seven main buildings, including about 900 serviced apartments in different styles, which will be established by the end of June 2009.

According to local media, the hotel projects in Expo Village are classified into three classes including one deluxe hotel, three budget hotels and a service apartments area. Some hotel brands as InterContinental, Hanting and GreenTree Inn will also settle in Expo Village, among which InterContinental will manage the deluxe hotel, while Hanting and GreenTree Inn will operate those budget hotels.

As of January 6, 2008, there were 187 countries and international organizations confirmed to participate the Expo 2010 Shanghai. By that time, the Expo Park is expected to welcome more than 10,000 domestic and overseas delegates, which means lots of business opportunities for the hotel industry.
