The Ministry of Construction of China has issued a notice to criticize ten national scenic spots.

These ten scenic spots are Mengdong River in Hunan; Jinshitan in Liaoning; Taoyuan Caves and Linyin Stone Forest in Fujian; Seaside of Jiaodong Peninsular in Shandong; Da Hong Mountain Scenic Spot in Hubei; Guilin and Lijiang River in Guangxi; Three Gorges in Chongqing; Shihai Dongxiang in Sichuan; Chishui in Guizhou; and Ruili River and Daying River in Yunnan.

Li Dongxu, director of the Department of Urban Construction at the Ministry of Construction, said that their main problems focus on construction problems that do not meet regulation, overall building delays, violations of the Scenic Spots Regulations, management confusion, and outdated supervision information system.

These ten scenic spots have been requested to finish improving their unqualified aspects by the end of June 2008. By that time, the scenic spots which still can not meet the requirements will have their qualifications canceled.
