News from a press conference held in Nanning is that Shenzhen Airlines plans to open routes connecting Nanning to other medium or small cities in Guangxi and to some important domestic cities.

Starting from January 13, 2008, Shenzhen Airlines is opening several routes including Nanning-Guilin, Guilin-Wuzhou, Wuzhou-Nanning-Xi'an, and Xi'an-Liuzhou-Chongqing. These new services are operated using 48-seat CRJ-200 aircraft. The company aims to use the provincial capital city Nanning as a hub to provide more convenient routes around the province, making the journey-time from Nanning to the other cities in Guangxi no more than an hour.

At present, the Nanning branch company of Shenzhen Airlines owns seven aircraft and has opened 22 routes and 40 daily flights between major cities in China. In October 2007, they also opened international routes to the following ASEAN countries Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, and Indonesia, as well as to Seoul and Chongju in Korea. These flights play an important role in Guangxi's economic and trade cooperation with ASEAN enterprises.
