Sun Hung Kai Properties To Build Initial Olympic Village In Hong Kong

Sun Hung Kai Properties announced that its Royal Park Hotel has been selected by The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad to accommodate athletes participating the 2008 Olympic equestrian event.
Guo Binjiang, vice chairman and managing director, said that the company will spend RMB300 million to renovate Royal Park Hotel in order to provide the first-class facilities and services for the 2008 Olympic Games, which is the largest renovation project since the hotel opened.
Hong Kong will host the 2008 Olympic equestrian event, and Royal Park Hotel is located in the center of Shatin where the jumping and dressage events will be held. The Royal Park Hotel will be the first Olympic Village in Hong Kong. The renovation project involves the lounge, guestrooms, swimming pool, and fitness center. It is aimed at offering a hospitality capacity for more than 300 guests.
Sun Hung Kai Properties was publicly listed in 1972 and is now one of the largest property companies in Hong Kong. It specializes in premium-quality residential and commercial projects for sale and investment.
