The first regional service regulation for Qingdao's golf clubs was unveiled recently, and now the service quality of golf tours in Qingdao can be assessed according to the criteria in the regulation.

As a new option for leisure or holiday travel, golf tours have been playing an important role in driving Qingdao's high-end tourism market in recent years. However, due to the relevant regulation being incomplete, there are increasing conflicts between the fast growing number of up-market tourists and slow development of golf tours. As a result, from the end of 2005, the Qingdao Tourism Bureau has carried out detailed surveys and research about the developing status of golf tours around the city.

On the basis of opinions collected from its current golf clubs, the Qingdao Tourism Bureau has established and unveiled the service regulation for Qingdao's golf clubs, involving facilities, equipment, personnel, service quality, complaint handling, and supervision and management.

The Qingdao Tourism Bureau has said that it will manage golf clubs according to these criteria. In addition, the bureau will strengthen the promotion of golf tours, and target the Japanese and Korean markets, in order to push this rising industry's development.
