Thailand To Be Important Inbound Tourism Market For Chengdu

According to the Chengdu Tourism Bureau, as Chengdu's inbound tourism market hits a level of sustainable growth, Thai tourists have become one of the major tourist resources for Chengdu.

The Chengdu Tourism Bureau said that Thailand has been an important inbound tourism market for Chengdu. In 2007, the number of Thai tourists to Chengdu was 32,000 — an increase of 28% from the previous year.

There is increasing Thai interest in traveling to Chengdu: attracted by the local cuisine and cultures. This winter, in the scenic spots surrounding Chengdu, the number of Thais was ranked in first place among international tourists coming to Chengdu for the skiing.
