Zhang Xiqin, vice director of China National Tourism Administration, says that the first Chinese tour group under the new Approved Destination Status regime is expected to travel to the U.S. in June.

Zhang said that at present there are still several detailed technical problems under negotiation between China and the United States. After American tours have formally opened, procedures such as visa applications will be simplified and a single visa per tour group is also expected to become possible.

Meanwhile, China is setting up an overseas emergency rescue system to ensure the security of Chinese citizens on outbound tours. In addition, China will also set up emergency rescue centers to provide services for international tourist arrivals in China.
