Sanya Focuses On Attracting International Tourism Investment

The Sanya government announced that in 2008 it will expedite its internationalization process, focusing on investment, tour products, tourism reception facilities, tourism service, and customer resources structure in the tourism industry.
Sanya will take advantage of several key areas such as Haitangwan to attract more foreign investors with international influences to make investment projects more international. Meanwhile, Sanya will encourage foreign enterprises to set up wholly foreign-owned or shareholding travel agencies around the city.
With respect to tour products, Sanya plans to further develop diving, submarine sightseeing, golf tours, yachting, and the MICE sector. There are also several hot spring resort area projects, under construction or in the pipeline, in Yanglan and Banling.
In addition, Sanya will speed up the renovation of some scenic spots including "Ends Of The Earth" and Luhuitou. It will gradually build an international tourism service management model including road signs, tourism signs, tourism counseling, and emergency aid systems.
