The Taiyuan government says it will invest RMB60 million to integrate its famous scenic spots to build four groups of special tourism areas.

Taiyuan has rich tourism resources spread around the city which fail to benefit from any form of synergy. To improve this situation, Taiyuan plans to integrate these scenic spots to form four special tourism areas including a historic interest area with a core of Jinyang culture focusing on Jinci Temple, Tianlong Mountain, Long Mountain, Meng Mountain, and Tai Mountain; a large scenery area combing multi-religious culture with Jueweishan Mountain,  Doudaifu Temple, and Fushan Park; an ancient cultural landscape protection area in the old city with the center of Qinglong Ancient Town, Wen Temple, and Chongshan Temple; and a Red Tour scenic area with the center of Taiyuan Museum, and some memorial venues of revolutionary activities.

Through integration of those scenic spots, Taiyuan expects to attract more tourists through generating greater synergy.
