Chongqing has signed a tourism cooperation agreement with the Thai tourism delegation, and more than ten travel agencies from Thailand have signed agreements with six international travel service companies in Chongqing for receiving tourists.

Before this, a Thai exploratory delegation consisting of 25 international travel service companies visited scenic spots, hot springs, and hotels in Chongqing and they plan to launch itineraries featuring these attractions.

According to the agreement, Chongqing and Thailand will positively encourage local travel agencies to organize residents traveling to another destination, with the aim of forming a trans-national tourism cooperation system. Meanwhile, they will build a platform to fulfill travel information sharing, especially information on the transportation, reception facilities, and hospitality capacity of scenic spots at peak seasons. The two parties will also hold promotional activities to jointly develop domestic and overseas customer source markets.
