Langham To Expand 20 Hotels In Mainland China Within 5 Years

Langham Hotels International has announced that its two hotel brands Langham and Langham Place will formally open in mainland China this year.
The company has three new hotels scheduled to open over the next 12 months in mainland China and the number of hotels in the area is expected to reach a total of 20 in the next five years — accounting for about 50% of their hotels worldwide.
At present, Langham has six hotels under the brand of Langham in Auckland, Boston, Hong Kong, London, Melbourne, and Pasadena. The Langham Yangtze Boutique, Shanghai will be opened this year. And the company has two hotels with the Langham Place brand located in Hong Kong and Koh Lanta.
The three new hotels are scheduled to open in Beijing and Changchun during 2008 and 2009. Langham plans to expand in mainland China using the three models of self-building and operating, purchasing, and signing a management contract. The group is focusing on Beijing and Shanghai – together with other provincial capital cities around China.
