Macau International Airport Welcomes More Tourists

For the first two months this year, the number of passengers through Macau International Airport has exceeded 860,000, with a year-on-year growth rate of 7%.

Of these, tourists on routes through Southeast Asia greatly increased, accounting for more than 30% of total passenger flow at the airport. According to local media, in 2007 there were 1,320,000 tourists from Southeast Asia to Macau with a growth rate of 53.8%. In recent years, Macau's tourism industry has been growing rapidly, and it will attract more tourists both from Southeast Asia and mainland China.

Currently, Macau International Airport has a total of 17 airlines operated 33 routes connecting to 57 destinations in China. And the number of tourists from mainland China increased by 5% last year.
