Sichuan Airlines To Add Three New Routes

Sichuan Airlines said that it will open two routes, Chongqing-Nanning and Chongqing-Urumchi, between July 1 and October 25 this year. It also plans a Chongqing-Zhengzhou-Shenyang route to commence between August 28 and October 25.

Sichuan Airlines has recently added three aircraft at its base in Chongqing to increase its number of aircraft to a total of 12. By the end of this year, the company will add another two aircraft to reach a total of 14 at this base. Sichuan Airlines will develop Chongqing Airport into a major transfer point for flights to Lhasa, Jiuzhaigou, Yunnan and Sanxia.

Cao Qianli, vice general manager of Chongqing Airport Group Ltd. said that the passenger flow through Chongqing Airport increased by 30% between 2006 and 2007.
