Changbaishan Airport To Open July 1

The Changbaishan Airport with a total of RMB550 million investment will be formally launched for operation on July 1, 2008.
Started its construction from July 2006, the airport is built to 4C level and will be the only airport used for tourism purposes around the Changbaishan Mountain area. It is expected to complete its terminal building construction by the end of May and to enter a testing period in June. The airport will focus on regional flights and plans to open routes connecting Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Dalian, Shenyang, and Changchun.
Changbaishan Mountain is located at the southeast end of Jilin, and is listed as one of National 5A Scenic Spots and National Nature Reserves. It has rich tourism resources and Changbaishan Airport is expected to help enhance local tourism brands.
