Passenger Flow At Hong Kong International Airport Grows

Hong Kong International Airport has announced that in February 2008, the number of passengers passing through the airport reached 3.9 million, 7.3% higher than the same period last year.
For January and February this year, driven by increasing numbers of tourists to Hong Kong, passenger flow through Hong Kong International Airport totaled 7.9 million, representing a growth rate of 10.3% compared to last year. And for the twelve months prior to February 29 2008, the number of passengers through the airport was 48.5 million, 8.3% higher than the same period of the previous year.
With regard to cargo at Hong Kong International Airport, in February, the volume of cargo was 247,000 metric tons, 5.1% higher than last year; for January and February this year, cargo volume reached 542,000 metric tons with a growth rate of 7.2%; and for the twelve months to February 29, 2008, cargo volume increased by 5.2% to 3,800,000 metric tons.
