After a ten-year absence, LOT Polish Airlines has resumed flights to Asia starting with a direct service between Warsaw and Beijing.
The inaugural flight from Warsaw to Beijing was made on April 2, 2008. Flights from Warsaw will be operated three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Return flights from Beijing will be flown on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Initially the Warsaw-Beijing route will be served by the long-range Boeing 767s currently operated by LOT Polish Airlines. However, beginning from 2009 it will be taken over by the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
