Keith Hardie has been appointed general manager of Le Royal Meridien Shanghai.
Hardie will be responsible for all aspects of Le Royal Meridien Shanghai operations, enhancing employee development, guest satisfaction, strategic planning and brand recognition. A 31-year hotel industry veteran, Keith Hardie has been with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for 14 years, most recently at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok as general manager. Prior to Mr. Hardie's career with Starwood, he held management positions at Muscat Inter-Continental Hotel, Shangri-la's Fijian Resort, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Manila and The London Marriott Hotel at Grosvenor Square.
Hardie was educated in Britain from where he gained his tertiary-level qualifications from both Newport College of Arts and Technology and Ealing College. He began his career as a Graduate Management trainee with Trust House Forte in 1977 and received his first overseas posting to Dubai 29 years ago.
