At the Beijing International Tourism Expo 2008, Sri Lanka has announced that the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has established its travel office in China.
With the implementation of a new tourism policy in Sri Lanka last year, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau adjusted its global marketing strategy and took China as one of major markets for future development. As part of its new global development strategy, the bureau established its travel office in Beijing this June.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and SriLankan Airlines had close communications with about 40 Chinese travel agencies and medias. The delegates from both two countries agreed that they will cooperate to promote the Chinese tourism market.
